Central African Republic
A vast, landlocked nation in the heart of Africa, the Central African Republic has endured decades of coups, civil conflict, and instability despite abundant natural resources including diamonds, gold, and timber. The capital Bangui sits on the Ubangi River at the border with the DR Congo. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and remains heavily aid-dependent.
