Comoros
A small volcanic archipelago in the Mozambique Channel between Madagascar and the African mainland, Comoros is one of the world's smallest and poorest nations. The capital Moroni sits on Grande Comore island beneath the active Karthala volcano. The islands blend Arab, African, and French cultural influences, and ylang-ylang and vanilla are among the main exports.
