Ghana
A West African nation on the Gulf of Guinea, Ghana was the first sub-Saharan African country to gain independence from colonial rule in 1957, led by Kwame Nkrumah. The capital Accra is a rapidly growing economic hub. Ghana is the world's second-largest cocoa producer and a leading gold exporter, and is widely regarded as one of Africa's most stable democracies.
