Guinea-Bissau
A small, low-lying West African nation with a coastline on the Atlantic, Guinea-Bissau includes the Bijagós Archipelago of over 80 islands. The capital Bissau anchors a country that has experienced frequent political instability since independence from Portugal in 1974. The country is one of the world's largest cashew nut producers, and the Bijagós islands are a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
