Kyrgyzstan
A mountainous, landlocked Central Asian nation where over 90% of the territory lies above 1,500 meters, Kyrgyzstan is dominated by the Tien Shan mountain range. The capital Bishkek sits in the Chuy Valley below snow-capped peaks. Semi-nomadic horse culture remains central to Kyrgyz identity, and Issyk-Kul, the world's second-largest alpine lake, is a major natural attraction.
