Nicaragua
The largest country in Central America, Nicaragua is known as the 'Land of Lakes and Volcanoes,' with Lake Nicaragua being Central America's largest lake. The capital Managua sits on the southern shore of Lake Managua. Nicaragua has a turbulent political history including the Sandinista revolution and remains one of the Western Hemisphere's poorest countries despite rich natural resources.
