Qatar
A small but fabulously wealthy Persian Gulf peninsula nation, Qatar has the world's highest GDP per capita, built on vast natural gas reserves — the North Field is the largest non-associated gas field on Earth. The capital Doha has transformed into a modern metropolis of skyscrapers and cultural institutions. Qatar hosted the 2022 FIFA World Cup and has invested heavily in becoming a global sports and culture hub.
